Become A Certified Childbirth Educator
 
Expectant parents should be taught that, although labor is painful, there are ways to deal with this pain both pharmacologically and non pharmacologically.  When they have the tools and skills to help with relaxation and comfort techniques and learn to trust in their body a natural childbirth an be achieved.
 
As a childbirth educator and trainer I am so pleased to be able to help others become educators and to give the gift of empowerment and skills for teaching to help women and families choose options and births that make healthier societies.

A CAPPA Trained Educator can empower a birth mom to trust her body and give her many techniques to practice so that when the time comes, she has a variety of techniques at her disposal.
 
Evidence-based childbirth education changes as research provides new information
enabling the educator to provide expectant parents with the highest quality of education possible.
 
To become a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator you must attend a workshop training.  This training is 3 days and provides 24 CEUs. You do not have to have a medical background although it can be helpful; you will recieve all the skills and materials needed to begin teaching right away in your community.
